first off, start working on your shoulders and back. As you gain size and mass in both of these parts you'll will become wider and not look so thin. Some exercises for the shoulders that you could do are: dumbell press, military press, lateral-raises,bent-over dumbell lateral raises, clean and press. Some back exercises include: bent-over barbell rows, deadlifts, wide&close-grip pull-ups, shrugs, one arm dumbell row. Hope this helps!

Muscle Rage hit it on his answer. I had a very thin upper body when I started training 13 years ago. I concentrated on developing my shoulders lats and back. Stick with it and it will pay off.

Yup...work on your traps, lats and back and you'll have that "V" shape in no time!

your frame is your frame, and as such there will be a limit to "natural" growth. But you certainly can improve your physique by following the sound advice of the other posts.

You know illus1on I'm very tall too (well I'm an almost 6 ft female....) and the prob with us is often very high metabolism. This means that we have to eat for ten people to get the slightest little muscle. Determination and discipline is needed here. Of course you can change the way you are looking, but you need to lift heavy weights and eat lots of calories (in your case it's a good idea to buy a good weight gainer)
Okey I'm not Ectomorph but mesomorph, but still when I'm gaining muscles, my muscles have problems of getting the needed mass since my muscles are automatically loooong! We can change all this, we just have to work....
Luck to you!

another question is that should i concerntrate on building the thickness or wideness of my back

Both. Change grips often when working your back, hands close together, one works with the back's middle section (thickness, if you prefer) hands wide apart you're working to get a larger back.
Also do lots of pull ups and change the position of the hands.

And don't forget your lats!
