Hey, I'm new here and have a question. I'm 16 years old, and have been lifting for about a year. In the beginning of summer I started taking L-Glutamine tablets from GNC. I took the recommended dosage of about 2 grams a day. I then looked into their powders, and found out that it had about 5 grams of glutamine a serving. I wonder why the daily tablet dosage would be 3 grams less than the powder dosage? I've since purchased Prolab's Glutamine Fuel, which provides 4.5 grams of glutamine a serving, and directs to take it once a day. I'm also taking ON 100% Whey, which has 3.5 grams of additional glutamine and precursors each day. Then, I'm taking MLO Milk/Egg protein before I go to sleep, which has 3.5 grams of the glutamine precursor, glutamic acid. I'm wondering if all this is too much in one day.

Ideally, I would take the Glutamine Fuel pre-workout, then the whey post-workout, and finally the MLO Milk/Egg protein at night. That would give me about 11.5 grams of glutamine and precursors a day. Is it too much for a 16 year old? I've read sites saying everything under the sun, ranging from anything over 2 grams is risky, to I should be taking at least 10 grams if I've been working out for a while. So far, I've noticed no side effects from glutamine. Can someone make me feel safer about it, or fill me in? Thanks.
