Ok. My husband asked me to make him a sandwich out of this concoction, and I was just wondering if eating this on a regular basis could potentially kill him...yuck!

This actually doesn't sound bad - but I'm pretty hungry right now too.

I used to eat peanut butter and butter or honey and butter on bread, very tasty if I remember correctly :) Then again my mom is famous for strange concoctions, like melting butter added to melted marshmallows with a touch of vanilla extract YUM, but I'll only go there like once a year! Butter over corn chex cereal is heaven also......

I don't usually use butter/margarine on toast that has non-natural peanut butter... I do find, though, I need to butter/margarine the toast with natural peanut butter... as for honey... if it's around, I'll pour some on...

The bread used would be the worst part...if he can fit the fats into his diet(they are good fats), then use whole grain bread and it is fine. Natural peanut butter has great fats, and the saturated fat in butter is much better than the trans fats in margarine. A little fructose from the honey will not hurt.(tops off liver glycogen). Again this all depends on his diet macros.
I wouldn't make it a practice to eat these all the time though unless on a heavy gaining diet. Peanut butter, while good, is as mentioned very calorically dense, and butter I am sure you are aware of. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Ok..here is where you all will gasp and tell me to never give this to my husband again. White bread, non natural peanut butter, margerine, and creamed honey. I tasted it and it wasn't bad. I couldn't eat this if my life depended on it because I would instantly gain 10lbs, however I think he can more than handle it..he probably doesn't get enough to eat as it is!

mmm peanut butter and honey is great....however, i hate peanut butter on white bread. i never eat white bread anyway because it sticks to the roof of your mouth (peanut butter does too- so together the combination is deadly)
i don't understand why you would want/need the butter or margarine. i used to eat this as a kid...ahh the memories |

I don't know why you need the butter either, and to top it all off, after I made it for him, my husband told me I made it WRONG! LOL

What is going on here? Since when is butter good? Also, is smart balance spread any good. It claims to be high in Omega 3s, no trans fat.

My reply was simply that butter is much better than most margarines, as they are filled with hydrogenated oils. Smart balance is one of the good ones.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

My college roommate used to make peanutbutter, marshmallows and gummi bear sandwiches. He would nuke the whole thing and eat 2-3 of those babies for dinner.
Oh Yeah, he was skinny as a rail. I was too from losing my appetite watching him eat those things. |
