Hi, I need your help!!! I am 44 and have gained a few extra pounds for the first time in my life. I have always be active, and in the last year more then normal. But, looking around at women in the 40's and 50's in crowds I noticed that most of them are over wt. and not fit, also seem to dress to reflect there lost youth, in a way that does not flatter there body. What I need is some encouragement that it is possible to stay lean and fit and age with grace. How do you keep the motivation going??? Also any noted changes to anyones energy levels in you 40's. Thanks in Advance.

Well, first off, keep training, don't worry about the extra pounds, they will go away as you are already experienced on what to eat and what not to eat.
Let yourself enjoy good wine, good music and good .....
Dress according to the way YOU feel.
My motivation comes from within, the healthy feeling I have, and the stamina just keeps me going and also the bonus of a healthy looking body.
As far as energy level, I have never had as much, I am training for 150k cycle challenge for September.
You can do it and stay with it.

This would be a perfect post for bb1fit to respond to :). dellafalls, have you looked at the pictures of bb1fit? If not, take a look. Read his profile. You'll understand why I said this :).

I bekieve that how you feel is how you look.Don't worry about a few pounds try not to worry at all. You will age gracefully in how you carry yourself.

At 51, the main difference I notice is I need an increased recovery time from injury. My energy level, strength, response to exercise is totally dependant on what I eat and how I rest. My quickness in physical activities isn't what it used to be. I think you got to use it or lose it. Life is by no means over. Strength wise I have had personal lifetime records in all my lifts after 50.
