Hey all,
So I started lifting about a month ago in addition to basic cardio and home excersize. At first the trainer put me on 30# weights @ 15 reps for each machine. This is upperbody. I feel like I need to do more now. It's to easy for me.
So should I increase the weight and keep it at 15 reps or should I increase the reps and keep the weight the same. Mind you, Im not trying to "bulk" up, just trying to increase strenght and tone a little.
What would be the best thing to do here? What have you guys done? I need to do something because I don't feel like it's "Working" my muscles except the butterfly machine.

When I started she simply told me to do 15 reps. Should I be doing more than one set?

Parko, the FT workouts are quite effective. You can choose from wightloss and defiinition to simple weight loss to buildin mass. They can be printed, and tailored to your needs. They also eleminate the need to think. Why not set one up and show it to your trainer? They spell out reps sets and split up the different muscle groups to prevent overtrainin or undertraining,

ok, well actually she's not a PT just for me. It's a navy base gym that has certified Pt's to get you started then you can just ask away after your first two sessions. I never really see her and I trust you guys more anyway.
I'll set up a ft workout again after I get back from boot camp. Right now I specifically need to run twice a day and work out as much as possible without hurting myself because I leave in two weeks.
Anyway, so I will do more sets. Im sure that will keep me at the same weight then for a awhile. Can I assume then that once I do my sets easily, THEN I increase the weight?
THanks guys
