Front squats, usually will hit more of the "tear drop" area of your quads( I believe) I don't have the exact muscle on hand but I think it works more of that area.
Its harder, because you have to keep your chest up, this works more stablizers and form really well. I like to do front squats, after regular squats to keep my back, and abbs nice and tight. OR if ever my form starts slipping on regualr, a few weeks worth of front squats, will shock my core into getting stronger, and help my regular squat.
