how do i fit in cardio?

i'm new to FT, and even newer to weights. i'm trying to build a little muscle on my really skinny build. but here's the question. i LOVE running. i'll usually run for thirty minutes at least a day. does this counteract what i do with the weights? can i still fit in a lot of running and still build muscle?
