Hi..I just found this site and hope someone can help..
I have been dealing with GAD for the last 7 years since my dad passed away and am seeking help to get my life back again. I have had symptoms of dizziness, weakness, feeling "weird" sensations when I go out in public. Driving became impossible. I saw my internist and he prescribed Lexipro..I have been on it one week and tolerated it OK with the exception of being woken at 2:30am with my pulse racing so fast I couldnt count it. We called 911 and went to the ER..they could find no problems with my ekg, just a low potassium reading. Very scary for me! The ER doctor seemed to think it was a reaction to the Lexipro. Anyone else have this happen? When will the side effects lessen??
I do feel better in general but dealing with another heart episode is daunting. I have appointments with cardiologist and internist next week..sigh..I am so ready to get well!!

I am on lexapro and I have not experienced the side effects that you describe. The first week that I started taking it I had some headaches, and I have some sexual side effects that I will keep to myself, but other than that I am good.
-------------- I make fun of others to compensate for my low self esteem. It works.

I have not had any problems while taking Lexapro. I have been taking it for about 8 months, while minimal side effects. Nothing health wise just what HEC said.
