Your best bet is a lean protein source, and a good complex carb. About 1-1 1/2 hrs. later hit the gym.

no creatine will not hurt you. It is naturally produced in your body all ready just in low levels.

You could blend some some peanutbutter , oatmeal and a scoop of protein powder in some water and chug it, I have done this when in a hurry in the morning don't see why it wouldn't work in the afternoon either. Doesn't taste great but will do the trick. Make sure it fits into your daily calorie intake though. hope this helps.

Id say just go for anything with a good amount of protein, a little bit of carbs as a side (not as much carbs as protein thats for sure, but at least some), and make sure it tastes good- haha.
