I know there's usually some talk of cardio and what to do and when. I, for one, HATE running. However, I have found something that is quite motivating for me. It's located on www.coolrunning.com and they call it the "Couch to 5K program." I'm back at the beginning, but with such small increments to work with, I'm not getting the shin splints like I used to. I'm also stretching better as well.

What my week 1 is like on this program is brisk walk for 5 min and then alternate jogging for 60 seconds and walking for 90 seconds for a total of 20 minutes. This changes week to week. The end goal is jogging 3 miles non-stop. :)

Anyway, just thought I'd post that for ya'll.

Hey mutt!! Great to see you too. Feels great getting back into the swing of things, although my belly and rear aren't supposed to be swinging at all.

Good luck with your running plan. That's pretty much the same plan I stuck to and it's the best way to go.

I am on the Couch to 5k running plan too. At first I thought that week one was too easy so I tried to jumep to like week 5, but it was too hard

I'm getting back on it this week, but I'm also keeping up with other cardio so that I get my haeart in shape to handle the running (or jogging in my case)

My weight bounced up a little since I started dating an italian guy who loves to cook pasta for me...luckily he's in the army and needs to lose 10 pounds before he goes to officer basic training in january so he wants to start watching his diet too.

Are you still on week 1?

I'm starting week two today. I'm a little nervous, but know that i can do it. I don't know what it is, but I feel better and actually feel better when I look at myself in ther mirror, even though I haven't changed at all (trust me, I measured!)
