Hi,
I just have a question about this. I don't understand why people say fast food is bad for you and you should not eat it. I mean it is probably bad if you eat it 24/7 but what if you eat it like twice a week or something. Because my friend, he's buff and he eats fast food because its fast food!.

fast food is not good becasue it has all the added stuff your body doesn´t need: thats to say, fat, sugars, ...

but twice a week it is ok.
as long as you are not as Clinton who ate 24/7 you will do fine.

another argument of saying fast food is bad it is related to the amount of calories.
fast food are caloric dense foods. many people it fast food and exceed the caloric needs. and thats when obese people come.

personally, i think you can eat fast food but dont make it your first food source.

Some fast food joints are ok. I eat subway subs once or twice a week. Always get the 6" low fat ones on wheat.

I haven't eaten fast food in a long time. It grosses me out knowing the facts about all the fattening food, but I agree, it's not bad if you eat them just once or twice a week. It might even do good to you because your letting your body know that your not starving it.

i wouldn't advocate eating fast food more than once a month, if that. the sheer fat, sodium, and cholesterol content should be enough to steer anyone away, but for more reasons not to put this fast crap in your body, read jdelt's post in the general health and fitness forum or watch morgan spurlock's "supersize me" documentary. putting this in your body is like poison.

your body is not going to think you are starving it if you don't eat fast food. if you're eating the right food in its place, your body will thank you. yes, it will be hard to cut out at first, and you might feel deprived, but not starved. try to ween yourself off of it. your friend might be buff on the outside, but you can't see the effects of what fast food is doing to the inside of his body. i guarantee you it's not pretty.

Hmm.. but the problem is im underweight and i need to gain weight and also I don't have the time to cook nor the money to go to a decent restaurant! This nutritionist that came to our classroom 2 years ago said ooh eat what your mom cooks for you. Who got the time to cook nowadays?

if you're trying to gain weight and you put crap in your body you'll be worse off than you were before. i don't have time to cook either, but i don't eat fast food. my fast food is smoothie king and a tri-o-plex bar. i also eat a lot of tuna (very fast, no cooking, and cheap.) there are a ton of suggestions on this board as to what to eat when you're trying to eat healthy but you don't have a lot of time. search fit buddy, you'll come up with a lot.

yes... when bulking, you want to gain weight... not fat!...
eating healthy food when bulking will help you reach your goals faster. i mean gain muscle mass and not only fat.
if you eat crapy food, you will certainly make your belly come out more than you want and need.

althou, you sometyimes need this calories.... imagine only eating green veggies to fill up your daily calorie intake?
almost impossible

so personally, i will recommend to eat as healthy as you cant, but dont prohibit your body to all this whims we all like...

Howdiekat hit it on the nail once a month or less!
And yes see the movie supersize me.
If anyone wants an interesting read, take a look at a book titled "Fast Free Nation-The dark side of the American Meal". Fast food isn't pretty nor is it fresh!
