Hi to everyone, new to this so I want some encouragement! I have always been able to eat as much as I liked and not exercise and never gained weight or got out of shape. I have now hit my mid 40's and bang! everything has changed. i need to lose about 14lbs in weight and take exercise. I filled out the profiles and will make the effort (honestly) but i work from 7.00am and do not get home until 17:00, when I have the daily chores, cooking, dogs to walk etc., and I just feel too tired to be bothered - so I slump down with chocolate and TV - HELP to motivate me!

Welcome to FT! This is a great place for motivation... lots of success stories on the site... read a few and it'll get you pumped!
A lot of weight loss is attributed to how you eat... you may not have a lot of time to exercise, but focus on how you eat and it'll help... do your best to fit in the exercise... by the way, extra muscle helps burn calories!

Its hard getting motivated at times and we all know how hard it is to lose weight, regardless how big or small or goal may be. Doing Chores and walking the dogs are exercises. Just try doing them a little more briskly. I found it really hard to try not to slump down as well. I work 2 jobs in retail so I spend about 10 hours a day on my feet, but I love just coming home now and stretching and going for my runs. It was heck at first and I dreaded it and literally cried the first few times I hated the idea so much. After the first week, I felt like a million bucks! I bet you will too! :big_smile: Don't give up on yourself. You'd be surprised how much just little things help in losing weight. :) You can do it. :love:

He he I feel you! I do this crazy 12 hour shift where I work from 5am to 17:00 on Mon and Tuesday, then Friday, Sat and Sun...then I'm off on those days, work Wed and Thursday, and then on Monday, I flip flop and start work at 17:00!!! and work to 5am. Iew. I have a 3 year old, I take online classes at college...I never feel like I have the time. Plus, I am living in Iceland, and i hate running in cold weather!!! Let alone getting into the car in 30 knot winds just to go to the gym!!!
Excuses, Excuses.
I need to loose about 15-20lbs, so if you want, let's motivate each other!!! I start on Monday.
