What do you guys think about egg substitutes like Egg Beaters, etc. Are they as good as reg eggs for protein? I like them because they are quick and easy and lower in calories.
Eggbeaters are egg whites (the part with the protein, not the fat) with a few added chemicals/spices to make them appear/taste more like regular eggs. They're essentially the same as egg whites from the shell, but a lot easier to use. The downside is they're considerably more expensive. Really up to you if the time-saving is worth the extra money (they're roughly 3-4x as expensive for the same amount of whites from eggs where I live.)
