Hey all tomorrow i won't be able to workout till around 8 at night and was wondering if i should just skip tomorrow as a workout day and take it as my day off, as i won't be able to eat much after my workout besides my PWO shake, and my PWO meal then my bed time meal, all of which are small meals and my pre workout meal would consist of 6oz. chicken and 2 cups of veggies is this an adequite pre-workout meal? I also won't be able to workout in the morning my schedule tomorrow is very messed up. I'm thinking i will prob. take the day off the more i think about, just curious to know what others think.

i'd just go for it and have an entire buffalo for the pwo meal... just gotta make sure you get plenty of sleep after that... i usually do my cardio pretty late at night, and i just make sure to get a good pwo meal (45min after finishing the shake, of course) that'll not only serve that very purpose, but one that'll also carry me through the night...

I work out late just about every night because of my schedule and I have had no ill effects and been able to gain muscle and not fat. Just stay away from major carbs (especially sugars) and fats late when eating. Protein is good and enough carbs to help absorb/metabolize the protein. For instance, last night I had my dinner Chicken breat, potatoes and green beans), worked out about an hour and a half later, and an hour before bed had my protein shake. I have had no negatives on that schedule.

My PWO shake is fine though right? dextrose/malto? I know about the surgars, i don't have any in my diet so i'm fine there.

i'd still wait a little bit (at least 30 minutes if time is really an issue), and get a decent meal... don't leave the fats out, though... just keep it clean... omega 3 if possible... for this last meal, get something that'll be absorbed slowly... some veggies with cottage cheese and some lean meat would probably do the trick, although i'm sure someone else with a better knowledge base on nutrition could suggest you something better...

I got my bed time meal down pat, 2tbs. flax seed oil. 1/2 cottage cheese and a scoop of whey protein. I just got done, with my workout it's all good.
