I've upped the weight on my squats in the last few weeks... so much so in fact it's quite dangerous for me to try and lift the damn thing over my head. I don't have a rack that I can lift from and the way my bench is situated, I can't use that either. Does anyone know of a foldable rack I can find somewhere to lift from for squats and other exercises?

Thanks...

Hmmm, do you not have the room for a power rack?

Hi Tim, if there is a foldable rack you will probably exceed the capicity before too lon and it would cost arms and legs. Are you handy with wood? You could build somthing against the wall but the real value I see in my cage is that there are safety pegs where I can dump the weight if I get in trouble. My bench slides into my cage and will remove for squats.

Well, I was thinking of getting the local welder to dream something up with pegs at different heights... so I can use it to rack for curls and other exercises.... dunno how much that'll cost though.. likely cheaper than a divorce after I buy wood and such to build it... I'm not the greatest carpenter in the world...

Just think it through. You need to be able to back into it. Somthing that bolts to the wall may work.

My advice is to get either a bench/squat rack combo like I have...or like charlie (my first choice but beggers canna be chosers) a rack and removable bench! Most stores like walmart and such have something reasonable for sire close to if not cheaper than buying wood or getting a welder to do it safer too.

TimDay, I once found on menshealth.com the plans to building your own squat rack. Unfortunatly I could not find it at this time. You might do a google search and see what you find as well. Mutt your right too. On Walmart.com you can find a squat rack for about $190 I believe.
