Start out by going with 13cal per pound, if after 2 weeks you don't see/feel a change, reduce another calorie. Don't go below 12 cal per pound as that will make you feel dizzy, light headed etc. Good luck and hope you stick to it.

ok carivan(and any else who read this) I just did 13xmy weight of 235, and it comes out to over 3000 calories a day. Right now that just seems enormous considering I have a hard time getting 1500 a day. However, if you were to calculate calories at my goal weight of 165, it would only be a little over 2000. It's all relative to how much you weigh at this point in time I know, but I was wondering if it would be ok for me to be reaching for the 2000 calorie goal right now instead of the 3000 because at the present time 2000 seems a lot more likely to be obtained. Ideas??

you can try it, but if you are exercising, or doing any type of exertion, you will tire really fast. At 11 calories per pound, I would say try it, but if you feel light and dizzy, and get shakey, start upping the calories.

try using your "lean" weight for calories.....concidering adipose tissue(fat) dosn't consume engery, I think thats a better way, at least to me for caloric needs.
