I noticed that in my new ft program that it has arms twice a week. Just wondering if that is too much or if it's okay. I've read & heard that you should only do them only once a week, but I feel like I can do more then once a week. Would just like everyones opinion. Thx!

I see no problem with it. Your arms are a smaller muscle (ofcourse) then your chest or legs, therefore recovery time is a little faster. You can hit it twice a week and if you follow your specific program and get proper rest in between days.
Good Luck
What program are you following?

My 8 week mass program has me doing it as well on a 4 day split (Tues and again on Fri). I agree with qualters, it is all about the rest, recovery, and good clean food between.

Which program did you sign up for? Under the mass program, arms (biceps and triceps) are usually worked just once per week. Does your program split the biceps on one day and triceps on another?

No, Rob. I initially signed up for the 8 week mass over 5 days. Then I went in and changed it to a 4 day program, after the first week with the intention of having weekends off. Well, lo and behold the only real difference i noticed is that Tues and Fri are now BI/Tri days, solely. Mon is back/shoulders and Thurs is chest/leg/calves.

I'm on the 8 week Gain Muscle Mass program. It has me doing biceps & triceps on Tue & Fri which is okay with me because my recovery time is good. Monday is Back & Shoulders, Thurs is Chest, Legs & Calves.

Once is probably best. if you are working the muscle properly then that should be plenty.

Well, hmmm. Now I am perplexed. I was thinking this would be great, because who doesn't like working the pretty boy muscles. It is easy and for me, I see results rather quickly. However, at 31, recovery is very important (takes longer than at 22) and twice a week may be too much. I think I may switch back to a 5 day program and split train one or two days a week.

4-day training split...that explains it. Thanks. The one other thing I didn't like about the 4-day split is the lack of forearm exercises. Unless you create this program on your own, the 5-day split includes some exercises.

Well in all, training arms twice per week should not be a problem at all.

I usually just throw in forearm exercises along with my bicep & tricep days.

I think I will switch back to a 5 day, things were going so well. I noticed the absence of forearms....

This is my exact split on the 8 week mass also. I add some forearm exercises every other week. I'm really not that concerned with them right now. I have bigger muscles to fry. :) I will say that training twice a week on my arms has added two inches.

Cool, maybe I will reconsider yet again, I am so damn fickle! Well, as for the forearms, mine have exploded and I have had people ask me what I do. So I will continue to them hard too. I mean, in a short sleeve shirt, that what sticks out, AND they really help the grip too.

Hey ischjli, what excercises do you do to explode your forearms? I'd like to have the same forearms & have people asking questions! :)

Reverse barbells curls are good, but then you can use a dumbell and you lay your forearm across a bench so the db is hanging off. Relax your wrist and then curl it back up(wrist movement only).

Well, nothing too crazy- just what ft has me doing. Seated BB wrist curls, alternate db wrist curls, reverse (curved)BB curls, and occasionally I will back up to the squat rack, grab the bar behind my bcak and do wrist curls. Personally I get the best pump from seated BB wrist curls and the reverse BB wrist curls. It is also genetic too, I have thick veins that pop out when I lift. I never liked it when I was younger, now I think it looks cool.
