i'm new here -- hi. i am trying to weigh the pros and cons of creatine before i go out and buy any. i read recently that women who are vegetarians have low levels of creatine and should use it as a supplement. i'm not looking to increase any mass here, just help my body be happy. thoughts?

If your goals are not to increase mass, then it wouldn't be necessary for you to supplement from creatine.

creatine has been shown to help loose body fat...so it's good for that also...and it makes you stronger, u don't really gain muscle mass from it....you just retain more water inside ur muscles...

Thanks for the info...can you recommed a good liquid brand?

don't take liquid creatine - you will be wasting money. creatine, by nature, breaks down in liquid form and becomes virtually useless. pretty much any brand of creatine powder is good as long as it has the "creapure" label on it. i have always used optimum nutrition creatine and have always seen good results.
i haven't experienced mass gains while on creatine, but i have had increased strength and decreased body fat after cycling. you will gain a little water weight while taking it, but you will shed it within a couple of weeks after you stop.
and p.s., even if you do post in the men's forum, the majority of women on this site read posts in here too
-------------- i wish you ill, ice-t.
