A set is a number of reps you do for a given exercise. For example. Say you are doing bench press you do 10 reps that is one set of 10 reps hope this helps!

You are supposed to increase the weight as you lower the reps.. the final couple of reps in a set should be difficult, but not impossible to do... however, is you are just starting, don't use too heavy a weight, just get the form correct...

I wouldn’t, although I'm new to all this it seems that if you are going to change the weight between sets it's only to increase it rather than decrease, using the first set as a warm up and from what I've seen mostly going to failure when using increasing weight though I could be and therefore am probably am wrong on that last part :surprised: Either way I tend to keep a constant weight and as a fellow n00b would suggest you do the same until you know what you're doing.

Sorry I haven’t actually answered your question lol - what you are decreasing is the amount of reps in each set, i.e in set 1 you do say 20 barbell curls with weight x, then in set 2 (i.e after a few moments rest) you do 15 barbell curls with the same weight x. Hope that makes sense.
