Hi,
I am a 34 yr old female. I want to lose at least 50 lbs by next June 05. My thing is I need some encouragement & motivation. I want to know a good diet & exercise plan. I have a threadmill & dumbbells at home. I have also been getting alot of info from Fitness magazines, Shape magazines, & freetrainers.com, lhj.com, & msn.com on how to lose weight.
Any helpful advice is welcomed.

dierwolf: Welcome to FT! Sounds like your at a good start! Martial arts, cycling - now add some weights to build that muscle, check out the program here to get you started.
onethinone: great to have you on FT, motivation has to come from within, but encouragement is plentiful here so you have come to the right place. Join the forum Overweight and Obese, we meet every Monday also. Fill out your profile and take advantage of the exercise and nutritional programs free on ft!

Welcome to Freetrainers, both of you.
dierwolf, Karate and cycling are great for your cardio side, but if you do not have weights at home, look into the resistance band exercises under Nutritional Resources | Fitness Resources. Each muscle group shows exercises for resistance band training and Workout ball (with dumbbells, usually). I just bought a resistance band for $5 on eBay (S&H included).
onethinone, same thing. Check into a workout ball to use with your dumbbells. I've used the ball for a couple of exercises at the gym for which I couldn't find the right machine. They are great. Remember, weight is more about diet and nutrition. Veda is very plugged into this board. Buddy up with her, and we'll see "less" of you around here.
Welcome.
