your hams and quads are two of the most important muscle groups in the human anatomy. your legs are your foundation, and if your foundation is strong, the rest of you will be strong as well. training the fast-twitch fibers in these muscle groups can aid in explosive movements and making a quick first step, which is beneficial in all sports.
whether you're blocking, breaking tackles, making tackles, or trying to push through the offensive line to get to the qb, you won't get very far unless you have powerful legs.
