it came to my attention this afternoon that there is a slight history of diabetes on my dad's side of the family. for the past several months i've been exhibiting some symptoms typical of diabetes onset, and was thinking that maybe the reason why is because i've been spiking my insulin levels after working out. i'm going to the doctor monday to have some bloodwork done, but should i stop spiking until i find out exactly what is wrong?

Normally a well placed/timed insulin spike like after a workout cannot hurt you due to many factors I am sure I don't have to relate. But, if there is a history, and you are exhibiting symptoms, you may have to taper a bit. My wife is a type 2 diabetic, and I really had to experiment to get her recovery drink right. Be careful, you may want to start by cutting your pwo simple sugar amounts in half.

ok, turns out my blood sugar is fine, but my blood pressure is abnormally low. i don't think spiking my insulin is going to hurt that, so i will continue with my spikes per usual. thank you for the good advice though, ron!
