Ok, here is the deal.I havent posted here in a few months, becuase I pulled some muscles in my lower back and havent been able to do a darn thing for the past 3 months, except for some cardio.. Now, I am pain free for the most part, but since I cut out my weight training and I cut out a lot of cardio, I also let my diet go a bit, and gained 15 pounds. What I am looking to do is get back to 200 lbs ( i am 5'11 and 215 ). But I need to take it easy on any excersizes that are going to be putting a lot of strain on my lower back.. Any ideas will be very much appreciated.

I think as long as nothing is medically wrong with yourback...doing compound back exercises...is exactly what you need to strengthen your lower back...

I am think of deadlift and its variations

focus on doing sets of 10-12 at first, with a weight you're comfortable, then slowly move up to weights u can only do for 4-6 reps...don't be intimidated by the weights....just focus on doing the exercise with proper form. Also at first your back may feel more sore than usual...but that's normal...check out powerlifitng forum and 'why we do deadlifts' sticky...for more info..good luck
