I heard from reading around these forums that whey protein goes into affect very quicklyy and is only good for afterworkout and not for something like before you goto sleep.
My question is, what can I add to the whey protein shake to slow down the digestion?

there are different kinds of protein powders. isolate is the quickest digesting one whey is slower. I take whey before bed with some cottage cheese which is a casein protein which takes longer to digest which is what you want before bed. I usually have my whey after i have a meal to slow digestion and use my isolate after a workout.

Add some fiber and fats.
You can also use casein, it gels in the stomach upon digestion, insuring a slow steady release of amino acids. You may want to investigate buying a blended protein. If not, then above is a good choice.

How did you find out about the mercury toxicity and what were the symptoms?

Carivan, Heres a site with everything you need to know about mercury http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/effects.asp
Theres a calculator on there to calculate your own mercury levels. I didn't have any symptoms personally but from reading that site they dont look pretty :(

How do you mix in the peanut butter with the shakes? I always get chunks of peanut butter at the bottom of the glass
