Westide barbell recommends switching max effort excercises every two weeks. I change every three weeks cause I feel this is the time that it takes my body to adapt, though it probably wouldnt hurt to listen and use the two week method. -------------- Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even. steve |

There is no standard box height. Everyone trains differently. When I first started squatting, I used a box between 1-3 inches above parallel. Now, I will use one that is up to 4 inches below parallel to develop explosive power out of the hole.

Start out at parallel, determine your needs from there. and then change.
Once you get comfortable with a set box height, change to a different box to prevent your body from adapting to a set height. I have done heavy box squats 3 inches above parallel (the equivalent of lock outs), and front squats off boxes 6-7 inches below parallel. Its all about not letting your body adjust |

I change mine every 1-3 weeks. Depends on if I feel peaked out on a given exercise or not. I also change my box heights from way below parallel to 2-3 inches above parallel. Depends on my weakness at a given time.

Lower thigh? I didn't realize the thigh could be seperated.
Squats and deadlifts. -------------- Your two most important minerals: Iron and Chalk. If you smoke or don’t wear your seatbelt, please don’t tell me the deadlift is dangerous. |
