There isnt anything wrong with me running 20-35 mins 5 days a week (mon through fri), is there? I run shortly after i wake up before my breakfast(brunch). i have been doing this for a few weeks and i havent seen any signs of the fat burning away. ( i want to lose the excess fat in the chest and abdominal area)

Well, you cannot spot reduce...you will have to lose overall bodyfat. Sounds like you've hit a plateau. Try increasing your intensity (run up to 45-60 minutes) or do a search on HIIT cardio.

Good luck!

You may want to also do toning in the area of your abs...make sure you eat a healthy diet to see faster & greater results. Remember, that no matter how strongs your abs are, if you still have access fat in that area, you will not see a thing of defined abs...It's like looking at the outside of an apple...not until you cut it open will you realize if the apple is good or not.. orrrrr something like that...goodluck!

Or you might just want to vary your runs some. Maybe for a longer time on some days and run some hills or a few 400 - 800 m repeats on other days.

Variety is good. I got stuck on the weight lose issue after a while, so I do different activities in the morning. I go for about 45-60 6 days a week. Mon/Wed/Fri, I usually run at a good pace (forced running) and on the other days, I may do low intensity for 60 min varying my routine (bike, circuit training, walking uphill, or slow jog). It has helped me quit a bit and it keeps it from getting boring. Hope this helps.

The key word is to keep changing exercise and the way you're doing them..... The muscles and the body need to be pushed, provocated, stimulated and shocked very often to keep getting great results.
