Hey All,
Advice on the following would very much be appreciated:

This is based on a bulking diet:-

1. The carbs I eat should come almost entirely from complex sources, e.g. oats, nuts, brown pasta, brown rice, bread.

2. The protein from a whey shake is higher quality and more quickly available to the body than the protein from foods such as chicken and eggs, therefore to get maximum gains I should take the shake rather than the food if I’m just trying to increase protein intake (i.e. before a workout). However before bed its fine to eat chicken/eggs for protein because they are slower releasing for night time recovery.

Many thanks in advance for your time, I think I’m getting there slowly.

Regards,
Jez.

Check the Faqs section, there is a lot of info of this sort.
before bed a slower digesting protein, like casein, is good so that it remains in the system longer - cottage cheese will fulfill that need.
