Hello! Well, here I am, ready for a change. I am 5'8", 28 years old and weigh a hefty 280 right now. I have always had problems with my weight, and it runs in my family too. In the last year, I've gained about 80 pounds, that after working very hard to lose 40 pounds (Was at 240, lost 40, then gained 80...bah) I lost the 40 pounds using the Atkins diet, and then regained all the weight plus some when I quit. The lowest I've ever weighed was about 180, and felt pretty good at that weight (I have a very large 'build' I guess you would say, even now I only look about 240-250)
Well, my goals are: would like to be around 185 again (its been about 4 years...) and have a low body fat percentage. Any suggestions on diet? I am doing the FT weight loss program (using a weight bench and free weights I have at home). What about cardio...I doubt I could do much now, but what should my goals be? Also, regarding cardio, I had a pretty bad motorcycle crash about 5 years ago (ahhh, my light weight days..lol) and am still waiting to have surgery on my hip (couldn't afford it then, Doctors wont do it now because of my weight), so cardio needs to be low impact (bicycle, etc).
Well, thanks in advance for any responses...my name is Alfred by the way!
:)

Welcome to FT, Alfred... you'll find a ton of help here...
For your diet, check out the Grocery List for a Bodybuilder on this site.. I'll be damned if I can remember what forum it's in (likely the Diet and Nutrition one)... it's a great start to things that should be in your cupboard... also, follow the nutrition guidelines in your profile.
As for cardio, start slowly and build up... the bike is great, walking (if you can keep it low impact), swimming...
Again, welcome to FT... oh, and be sure to do some research on the site by using Fit Buddy... it's at the bottom of each page!
