With the volume and intensity of my training, it is really very hard for me to finish a workout under 60-75 minutes. I know that you should finish up your workout within 45 minutes, but I just cannot do it. So my question is, how dentrimental to my gains are these long workouts?

My question to you is if you are seeing gains? If so then why stop? The only time i think you should stop is when you notice gians not happening. Another question, are you also doing cardio during that time? or is it just lifting. If just lifting you might be doing to many sets or just taking a lot of time in between them. But if it works for you then keep at it.

I have the same problem, I am in the gym for between 2 1/2 and 3 hours (yes this includes cardio, and I have to shower there, which takes about 20 mins.) Everyone asks me if I live there..haha

My actual work outs take about an hour, sometimes more, sometimes less depending on bodypart and if I'm training high or low intensity. I agree, if it works for you, than it really isn't a problem. Personally, I'd be happy if I could add another 30 to 60 minutes every morning! But that's because I am a cardio junkie. lol

LOL I do the weights in about 30-45 minutes, I lift heavy and train one major and one minor body part(chest/abs-then legs and calves etc) with a 30 min cardio it runs about 75 mins or so.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been seeing some great results latelly, so my question is answered. I just wasn't sure about the information I read about cartisol being released after 45 minutes to an hour and I was wandering if that would greatly effect my muscle gain, but I guess I will just have to wait and see.

if you're lifting with balls to the wall, no holes barred intensity, your actual time lifting should be no more than 1-1.5 hrs, tops. anything more than this, for most people, is generally not good at all. by this point, your body's natural GH and Test drops dramatically, and it tends to go into a survival mode, that is, catabolic.
