I am working on my post workout shake and was reading in a past posting that you recommend a 50/50 mix of dextrose and maltdextren and was looking at the vitaglo.comm and they have carbo powder and barley malt which should I use? Also what amount? The carbo powder says ½ cup isn’t that a lot when you are adding dextrose with it? I was wanting to take the mix and my creatine right after my work out usually during cool down like when I am changing after my work out and thin sip on my protein about 15 min later after I get home is this ok? Sorry to bring up more creatine issues but want to make sure I am doing it right.

Here is the link for malto...http://www.vitaglo.com/2020.html
How much you use depends on your lean bodyweight and what you are trying to achieve, gaining or cutting. Your creatine I would mix and do on the side, as you want to injest it immediately. Do not let it sit in fluids at all. Your protein, chug 1/2 of it, and sip the rest for the balance of 45 min. to 1 hr. Then have a sensible meal. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

sorry did mor reading and searching and found this. (You are very close, have it a bit backward. Start with the protein/dextrose/malto, and about 20 minutes into this drink, then have your creatine. Do not use gatorade or any other "spiking" method here, you should already have high levels of serum insulin from the dextrose/malto, so none is needed now. This is why this timing is the best. Keep sipping the rest of your p/d/m mix for another 30 minutes or more.) i know the wisdom is out there but some times it is hard to find.

Yep, thanks for not making me repeat myself. I wrote that a while back, and it is still true. Way to take things upon yourself and learn. You will do well doing this.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

You are correct,(for cutting)start with 1/4 your lean bodyweight(or bodyweight) in protein and the same amount split evenly between dex and malto. For instance, if your bodyweight is 180, use 45 gr. of protein, and 22.5 each of dex and malto. Then adjust downwards as needed. This is your starting point.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

I keep mine in the car and take the water out with me and mix it before I pull out of the parking lot. It's just powder before you put the water in.

Yep, WAnglais1 makes a good post. I bring mine to the gym in a baggie, keep it in my locker. When finished working out, fill my shaker cup with water and mix, and start drinking.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |
