My wife made some awesome cookies for Thanksgiving. They had protein powder in place of flour, walnuts, carob chips and raisins. Even my stepson who hates anything healthy ate these all day! I will post the recipe probably tomorrow.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

You guys are sick. I am having a cookie crisis in my house and y'all are contemplating politically correct cookies. I'm gonna sprinkle some sugar-lard on my Christmas cookies, dip them in a mixture of molassas and karo, drink my egg nog and go to bed. I'm outraged at the insensitivity. -------------- Sometimes I lie awake at night and wonder where have I gone wrong? Then I hear a voice say this is gonna take longer than one night. Charlie | |

I tried this recipe and it really it quite good. My oldest daughter’s comment was “Sweet ASS!” Whatever that means…
Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies Makes 3 ½ Dozen Cookies 1 cup sugar ½ cup margarine or butter, softened 1 egg 2 tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon grated orange peel Topping: ½ teaspoon cinnamon 2 teaspoons sugar Cream sugar and margarine or butter at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes). Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, and orange peel and then gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing until blended. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and flatten with bottom of dampened glass dipped in cinnamon/sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 9 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from pan and cool on wire racks. Nutritional Analysis: One cookie provides 61 calories, 1g protein, 9g carbohydrates, 1g fiber, 2g fat, 5mg cholesterol, 12mg calcium, 28mg potassium and 80mg sodium. Recipe courtesy of Kansas Wheat Commission Note: Be sure that you use whole wheat flour, not whole wheat pastry flour. I also used half the amount of orange peel called for since I used fresh instead of dried. -------------- Anni ******* Does my ass make these pants look big? |

Homemade chocolate bars
Make a foil square, with folded up edges, and grease it with I can't believe it's not butter spray. In a medium bowl mix 6 tablespoons cocoa powder, 5 tbsp splenda, 1 tsp vanilla. Put 3 tbsp butter on top, cover loosely with plastic wrap and microwave 30 seconds. If butter has melted fully, continue, if not microwave for 15 seconds and check again until melted. Stir all the ingredients until well blended and then spread on the foil, wrap it up and refrigerate. I added walnuts to mine. It isn't low-fat, but it is low-sugar and tasty! -------------- "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." Marcel Proust |
