I'm sure this topic has already been talked about previously, but I just wanted to know how people who have used creatine reacted after supplementation. I just want to know different side effects. Also, I was wondering if it really worked or if it was all about water and psycological gain... Please let me know.

Personally, I really like creatine. I can tell when I am on it and can tell when I have been off it for a while. Now, if this is psychological, I don't know, but it sure works for me. I usually take it for 6 weeks everyday and then go off it for 1 or 2 weeks, sometimes even longer. I haven't had any side effects from creatine, but that isn't to say you won't or nobody has. I am not sure, but for the most part, I feel creatine is safe. But check out other sites and ask questions and do you own research to see if you feel it is safe.

I do not like using things like that. Even though all I think it does is make your muscles more hydrated. I just prefer to let my body use the creatine it makes.
I am not big on using supplements or drugs to help me out, other than nutrition shakes.

sigh, creatine draws water into your muscles...whihc doesn't make them grow, but does make them stronger in a sense as they are bigger...which is nice, but creatine also increases your ATP, which makes it so where you can work out longer and more often (you recoup faster) so its not anabolic, but all of thes effects it does have help in ones quest to gain muscle

My two cents (new here, I'm in the new members posting)- creatine also works differently for everyone - read up on proper dosage and be sure to take time off from it (as posted by duketter). Of course it won't be safe if you end up OD'ing on it...use common sense. Some people seem to have obvious gains with it, whereas others don't notice too much. You do have to give it time. Interestingly, studies show that it doesn't work as well for us females...life is unfair ;)

Creatine is one of the best and safest supplements you can take. It's not a magic bullet though. You still have to do the work. The biggest mistake people make is that on a creatine load cycle, you MUST drink at least a gallon of water a day, better yet 2.
