I started my diet in late july since then i have lost 85 pounds, i started out reading the book that doctor phil wrote or whatever, but then found that it worked too slow and though the information was valid that it wasn't working as fast as i thought it could. I then started exercising more, primarily biking 4 miles a day and working at Cub, eating less about 1200-1500 calories daily and i began losing weight at a rather rapid rate. I started eating to boost my metabolism and realized that america's reliance on "convience" foods is causing the obesity epidemic of today, and the fact that america's fat doesn't mean we can't get our asses and change it. I am now in the final stages of my diet trying to lose about 20 more pounds to get me down to 215 and i have now start weightlifting 3 times a week, though i am 6'4.5" and 235 i still have a small amount of fat in my stomach area and i would like to get a 6-pack, so... if anyone has any answers to how to resolve this nice flabby ab problem why don't ya let me know.

CONGRATULATIOS MAN!!!
YOU HAVE MADE A NICE PROGRESS...GOOD now you want six pack? well, continue losing fat, thats all... and of course do abs with weights so they can growth and burn more fat that you usually do. there is no magic at all, you cant just reduce the fat from one part of your body, to reduce your fat, you need to reduce fat from all the body. an for that, need to burn more calories that you eat. |

well, the essential that need to be taken comes from food. thats your prior protein source. remember to keep your daily protein intake high: no less than 1g per pound of bodyweight.
you can buy protein powder to help you achieve this goal. but i only recommend protein powder, specially whey protein and even more isolate protein, only post-workout: they are fast absorption protein, and will only be really usefull post workout; dont need it during the resto of the day. As i told you, make food your first protein source. tiwh your protein you can take creatine too as well as amino-aids and glutamine. i think this 4 component combo is enough for you to get muscle in a natural way. |

man, the more protein you eat, the more fat you lose!!!!
this is scientifically prouved. what makes you lose fat is controlling your carbs: the less carbs you eat the mre you lose weight. Protein wont make you fat:goes right into muscle developpement and recovery as well as on your body needs: producing other protein essential for your living. you will lose weight if you dont exceed your daily caloric needs |

look for "BMR and nutritional calculator" on this forum, there´s a link for what you need.
in general, more or less 10-15 cals per pound. |

Allright so yeah i have one problem with this all if i am suppose to eat that much protein everyday where do i get it all from i was home sick today and i looked at the food i eat daily and i get less than half of what i am suppose to have daily how do i add more... I have thought about supplementing with protein but 4 servings of GNC mega whey everyday is 880 calories now if i want to continue to lose weight and i am adding 880 calories to the almost 2000 i allready eat then i will be gaining weight because my body doesn't burn that much. and then i guess i lift 3 days a week so if i do that will i be fine i am still new to this i could tell anyone how to lose weight fast but gaining muscle is what i suck at.. oh anyone know of protein pills or anything of the such something i could take 4 times a day or even 2 that would give me say 100g's of protein each serving??

mac you only need the whey protein after you workout.. its pretty much a waste of money to take it anytime else. protein comes in a TON of forms.. milk, eggs, yogourt, cottage cheese, chicken, turkey, beef, pork, peanut butter etc. check the labels on things to see their nutritional information. opt for things like lean cuts of meat, skim milk, low fat cheese and cottage cheese, etc. which will typically have less fat (thus less calories) but be loaded with protein.

if you cant eat the amount of calories you need daily, dont worry, you cant force your body to eat a lot of food at once. go gradually (it will also help you not to gain fat) and with time and a hard workout, you will see your body will be asking for more and more food.
dont owrry and be patient. and as i told you, you dont need protein shakes if it is not post workout. eat whole foods |

and now.. after 3 months.. my body is asking after every 3 hours for something  so increase ur diet day by day.. slowly.. ur matabolism is going to take a bit of time to get use to working fast... -------------- A life worth living is a life lived with honor and dignity..bow to no moral.. I think my metabolism kicked into overdrive. I was eating about every 3 hours but now I'm down to 2 hours cause I get so hungry...I'm trying to hold off on eating larger portions, but I think I'm gonna have to otherwise I'll be eating every hour and I won't be able to afford to feed my kids...just kidding. I did notice from Wednesday to Today on the digital scale with the exact same clothes on at my gym that I dropped from 163.9 to 163.2...babysteps babysteps babysteps. I try not to jump on it too often, but they put it right next to the water fountain...can't help myself.

hehe.. just remember you dont have to focus on eating a certain number of times a day, ie. 5-6 or anything, just be sure not to overeat at one time. 3 normal meals with healthy snacks in between is perfectly fine

Doing a bunch of situps is probably the last thing you wanted to hear and doing a bunch of situps is probably the last thing you need to do. Do a fitbuddy search, and look for things BB1 or other knowledgable persons on this site say about ab dieting/workouts. It's going to take research on your part if you really want success.-------------- I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious. --Vince Lombardi "Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Try this, MK...you may do this with or without a pelvic tilt. When performing a crunch (I prefer to call this lumbar stabilization), suck your gut in as much as you can. Then lift your shoulders only as high as you can keep your belly button from popping up (at least keep it lower than your ribs). You should find it harder to do than a regular crunch. Please remember to breathe (exhale up, inhale down). You want to strengthen your abs concave, not convex. The tummy will look better, you'll have better core strength to work your other body parts and you'll prevent what I spend a lot of time treating...low back pain! Good luck.

This line of posts (spot reducing Abs) seems to pop up like dandelions. I am not going to point out what has been said by wise moderators and fitness enthusiasts throughout this website ? that there is no such thing as spot reducing regardless what Suzanne Summers and other infomercial hosts may say! Or did I just say it.
Covert Bailey described fat loss this way ? (I am paraphrasing of course) Fat cells from different body parts have different activity levels. They get released to travel around the body at various times to see if it can be converted to energy by working muscles or necessary body activities. My chest and neck fat disappeared very quickly. So, in my body, fat in that area likely is released several times a day. In other areas of the body, fat is not so mobile. Belly and thigh fat is released one every six years. Ok seriously. It took me 20 years to develop my stomach and love handles. Why would I expect them to disappear within 2 months and have the fat stay off? Since I joined this site, I look better than I have in years. Sure I would like to lose that last 10 pounds around my waist but I ?exercise? patience ? pun intended. I do not want to jeopardize the gains that I have made building valuable fat burning muscle so that I can have a 34? waist by Saturday. Neither should you. Trust me. If you follow the regular exercise routine and eat good foods regulary throughout the day, as is recommend by the nutrition plan, you will achieve your goals. I know that some of the recommendations are counterintuitive. e. g. I gained all my weight when I was skipping breakfast (I will bet you I ate less than 10 breakfasts a year) and many times skipped lunch. I gained fat and lost muscle. I started the recommended exercise program but did not change my eating habits, Very little about my body changed. Finally I started reading the myriad of posts throughout the site that said you have to eat right. It felt weird to be eating breakfasts and lunches again. (I actually had a sticky note taped to my bathroom mirror that reminded me that I had to eat breakfast) The weight came off. Recently, one of my wife?s friends who had not seen me in a few months remarked, in front of my wife, that I was a hunk (I did not expect that at 47 years old) The exercise and nutrition plans on this website WORK! If I stay the same weight (more or less) but continue to build muscle, the fat around my waist will come off eventually. Patience |

its a big issue for everyone.and they trying to lose it.for this they often go to gym and doing workout there.but i prefer home excercise like yoga.because this is free of cost and also easy to do.and you will do it whenever and wherever you want at any time according to your time schedule.you have to do it only for half an hour.and you will get the result after a short while you can see that you are losing stomach fat after few days.so this is very effective for us.so do it now.
