I'm trying to get enough protein in my diet, but I dont have alot of money to be spending on food everyday, what is the cheapest way I can get the most protein? So far Ive found cottage cheese as the most cost effiecient.

tuna is by far the cheapest. 21g of protein in a pouch for 94 cents. i believe cans are even cheaper.

cool thanks, does anyone have any good ideas on different ways to eat tuna besides just the regular tuna sandwich?

Try mixing in some stuff. I do some pickle relish, fat free mayo, and sometimes dijonaise mustard. Some finely chopped veg might help, too.

I like to load it up with pork chop grease and bacon.

This might sound weird, but I like it with sugar free syrup. Yum!

i usually eat it plain, but in the past i've eaten it with black beans, brown rice, and a little mustard, raw spinach, and my personal favorite, avocado. 99.5% of the time though, i eat it straight from the can. i usually have a side dish but i don't mix it. the other day i had some organic pasta parmesan with my tuna. that was quite tasty.

A tablespoon of salsa makes a good mix.

Try it with a tablespoon of light Miracle Whip and a little horseradish mustard

You can mix it with alot. Here are some of the things i'll add.

- Hot sauce (Franks!)
- Salsa
- Veggie's
- Mustard

One thing I really like doing, is cutting up some Small tomatoes, Onion's and maybe celery and throwing it in with fresh Pepper.

Another idea, Today I mixed my Tuna with Brown Rice and Salsa, and puts lots of Fresh Pepper in it.

Gowar, if you don't like Tuna, then just eat other things. there are lots of sources of protien. Fish (Cod, Snapper, Salmon), Lean Steak, Chicken, Cottage Cheese, Eggs (Egg whites). But have you tried the White tuna? You may like that better!

One of my Fav's is Tuna Spaghetti.
sautee some garlic in a little olive oil, add a can of crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, parsley, salt, and pepper to taste. simmer for 30 min. Throw in a can of tuna (only the contents, not the CAN...lol) and serve over pasta.
Very cheap and easy.

When broken down per serving, most protein powders are cheap.

Don't forget your beans and rice - very cheap and combine to make complete protein.
