I over did it on the calf raises...now I can hardly walk. I can't put my heels down when I'm standing, ya know? Anybody got any suggestions on how to speed up the recovery process (besides all the supplementation I'm already doing), like heat or ice or whatever? I'm pretty ignorant in this area.

I sometimes had that problem.. it will just hurt though I never saw anything else to deal w/ the soreness for the few days that it will hurt.. Usually when my legs are that sore I do some light stretches before I get up to walk around..

Soak in epson salt. That will help and do stretches (until the muscles are actually torn), then you just want to take it easy.

I just hate sore calves.......

Nellie gives good advice; do some light cardio (ex biking). First it'll hurt a little but then it'll be better, and it'll help your muscles to recover faster.

I had that problem. I couldn't put one foot flat on the floor for one whole week. I didn't train on it at all. After the week I went back to training and everything was back to normal.

I find legs not so sore on the days following leg day, if I make sure I do some light excersise (e.g. rowing machine) immediately after doing my workout.. Sorry that doesn't help you this time, but maybe it could help someone in the future..

Rob.

My legs are the muscles that get the sorest when I train very hard. I have to walk up stairs all day long and that is a killer when my whole lower body is aching.
