I seem to have decent back thickness and strength, but I have been struggling to gain width (I want my V-taper!).
Anyone have any advice for exercises/routines to help me with my gains? Generally I am interested in hearing what has worked the best for people.

Pull ups

I would have to agree with hecdarec. A while ago I had the same question and found out that as far as Arnold Swartz goes he would do wide grip pull ups to get his "V". Later finding out that others do the same thing. Rome was not built in a day my brother give it some time. Stay cool and rock on.:cool:
