I know if I search there was a thing on gloves vs straps or hooks a while back.. but I think I will stick with gloves again...Ok my fitness gloves are on their last legs.. after 3 some years their pretty much totally smooth on the underside and the stiches are coming apart (I was always too lazy to go get new ones).. Now they kind of feel like their not really helping my hands too much.. anyone can recommend any specific gloves (maybe straps or hooks too but i'd rather some gloves)... or does everyone here go hardcore bare handed? |

Sorry, don't know any special brands that should be better than other. I just want to say that it's a goooood idea to wear gloves if you don't want sand paper hands...... The Mrs will not be happy! lol Straps or hooks is another thing (not the same work). -------------- - Nina :o) Les Victoires éternelles sont celles du coeur. |

I use bare hands, but I have something called versa-grip. They are like straps and gloves they have a website. -------------- Life comes by only once....Live it to the fullest! |

Harbinger makes some of the best gloves. I've been using nothing but chalk for a few months now and I prefer that method over gloves. Give it a shot before you spend the cash on new gloves and see how you like it.-------------- --JBennett "I've up-ed my intensity.... now up yours!" "Pain is only weakness leaving the body." Well I just bought any gloves when I first started.. I'm glad I did way back then because I saw some of my friend's hands who didn't use gloves ever.. their hands were pretty yellow and hard.. looks like it sucked.. anyway some small spots on mine are hardening up and I guess thats because my gloves aren't cutting it anymore...As for chalk.. I thought about it.. but never actually tried it. I saw a very small number of people (like one or two) using it in the gym in the past year... one guy seemed to keep clean with it.. but sometimes I walk around and see chalk all over an area or the deadlift platform... since I wasn't there to see the person using it I just started to think that chalk is too messy and probably is more trouble then its worth.... but like I said.. I didn't see any of the people that left a mess... |

I USE CHALK WHEN I DEADLIFT BUT RECENTLY STARTED USING VERSAGRIPS AND LOVE IT THEY ARE NOT ACTUALLY GLOVES SO YOU DONT GET THE SWEAT FROM GLOVES AND THEY PROVIDE AN EXCELLENT GRIP FOR MANY THINGS!* PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY! |

I have heard some good things about those Straps (versa grips) too, but that's just probably because they are the newest and coolest looking glove wanna be yet. I have been using the grizzly gloves with wrist support for more than a year now and i am still using the same pair, great durability and comfort. -------------- My only Limitation is your Imagination |

Try them (versagrips) they really work great. I have used many different gloves and straps, these work the best.-------------- Life comes by only once....Live it to the fullest! |

I couldn't find any versagrips in town but instead went with some brand called Harbinger.. i picked up a pair of crosstraining gloves since they seem to have more padding in the palm then a reg pair of weightlifting gloves.. actually all the crosstraining gloves I saw through the day seemed to be padded better then weightlifting gloves.. anyone know why? |
