HI, I am a 20/m and I am 6 feet tall and weigh about 255, my goal is to get down to about 225. The nutritional program that I was given shows really high numbers such as over 3000 cals, 600 carbs I was just wonders the if these numbers are correct or what I should consume when it comes to calories, fat, protein, carbs. I currently lift 4 days a week and do cardio 5 days a week, HOW CAN I LOSE WEIGHT HELP!!

The calculator on here is just a guide and does seem to give really high totals. Your may not need as much as this tells you, but you may be surprised of how much you actually need. You need to find how much calories it takes you to not lose any weight. Once you do that, have a deficit of 250 calories a day, and this will give you a loss of a pound a week. You need to make sure that you are eating a clean diet. Look at the post on the Specific Diet thread titled "Grocery list for the bodybuilder" and it will give you great choices for your diet.

I would say you would lose about 2lbs a week, at about 2500-2700 Cals a day, depending on your Activity level that week. I'm 5'7, 200lbs and 26, I am losing about 2lbs a week, on a diet of about 2000-2200 cals/day. Being you are heavier, and younger, you will burn more calories at rest than I do, so use that as a Guide, and fine tune it for yourself.
