your metabolism does tend to slow as you get older, but this can, in part be counteracted by maintaining muscle mass.
How old are you? Fancy filling out your profile, so we have more info please?

I don't see why you would want to lower your matabolism. I would love to just eat and eat and eat and not gain fat. Aging does make a difference in lowering yor metabolism, but I think the only way to lower your metabolism soon isn't very healthy and you would have to lose some hard gained muscle.

im not tryn to slow it down. in fact i like my metabolism to stay at it's current.
since im not planning on building them forever, therefore im not planning to keep eating at the same rate as i do right now.
therefore i was wondering whether it does get slower when you keep this kind of a diet.
about age and the other info:
im 20
male :)
aprox 185 cm (around 5'8)
weight 154 lb(was 162 2 months ago, was experementing a diet) :D
about 19% of fat
>> sounds like a blind date addy :D can post my phone number too :D
that's all i can think of as for now :)

The info is good, but we can only see it in this thread - if you go to the home page then "your personal profile" then "FT community showcase" you can copy and paste the info into personal details there. This means every time you ask a question people can see your stats and tailor their answers accordingly.
Phone numbers are only allowed when you post pictures
Diet is a bit of trial and error - when you are at the stage where you don't want to get any bigger, cut back by about 250 calories a day (spread evenly over all your meals) and monitor things for a couple of weeks, then adjust your intake depending on whether you are gaining, losing or maintaining weight.

Genetics are just that. We cannot change them.
Nor do they doom us, or guarantee us anything. Just train your body for a healthy lifestyle, and you and your metabolism will be at optimum health.
