Hi everyone, I am new to this site. It seems very exciting with possibilites. I am terrible for exercising. I used to get all the exercise I needed from work, but no longer work there. I quit smoking and have gained 15 lbs in 74 days. This can't go on. I hope this site is the answer I need to keep myself on track and lose these lbs without starting smoking again

Welcome robin...glad to have you. Focus and you will do fine. Do it long enough, and it becomes habit. The habit leads to a healthy lifestyle and a lean toned body.

My husband gained weight when he quit smoking as have others I know, but many of them were overweight when they were smoking so it is best to know that it isn't smoking or not that makes you gain or lose weight, but the lack of the nicotine does get you jittery and wanting of something to replace it's addiction of sorts. You need to get exercising and that will definately help fill the gap, try walking for starters, some like to walk in the country, some in the city, just find somewhere that you can start. Find something you enjoy in exercise first, that will help you from quitting after a week :) Do you like to hike, swim, walk, run, lift weights, etc., find that something and then add to it. Good luck to you - and remember, the food going in is the problem, not the cigarettes :) Don't start smoking to lose weight, find something to replace them, exercise, carrots, chew on beef jerky anything healthy :)
