Dont really know much about muscle fibres and so on but is it possible to train them so they are more explosivie eg. Which will be more beneficial.
1. Slowly bringing the bench down to your body and pressing out.
or
2. Letting it down to ur body slowly then powering it out really quickly.
cheers which will induce better muscle building

I am certainly not the most knowledgeable on this subject either, but what I have read is to have a controlled descent of the bar and then explode off of the chest as fast as you can while keeping good form and control. Do this with heavy weights low reps.

Yes, it is. That is one of the main concepts in powerlifting and even more so in olympic lifting. Lift heavy weights for low reps, or light weight as fast as you can for low reps and high sets. check out elitefts.com and westside-barbell.com for this type of training.

Lifting weights 90% can help increase inter and intra muscular coordination, inter meaning to use the surounding muscle Groups for one complete lift in one fluid movement, intra means to fire most or all the muscle fibers in that one particular group.

by doing light weight fastly...your "hardwiring" you muscles to work with that speed, which will catty over to yoru heavy lifts. Your nervious system is what tells you...this is "heavy" this is "light"
SO by doing light weight as fast as possible for 2 3 reps.......that hardwiring will make you muscle contract with the same speed on heavy lifts......even though its not moving that fast.

Heavy training maxes out all the fibers - fast and slow twitch, whereas light training only works the fast twitch.
To be more explosive, train explosively. Lower the bar with control and explode up, just don't slam your elbows out at the top of the move.
Also - add in some plyometrics for building power. Plyometric push-ups would be a good addition to your ouritne if youa re trying to build explosive power in your chest.
