I am a new member and new to exercise. I just started my workout at home on Monday. Today is Wednesday and I feel EXTREMELY sore in all my muscles. I am supposed to work out again today. I don't want to lose momentum but I don't want to hurt myself. I will be able to work out but not as hard as the first day. Should I do it or should I rest longer?

It is very common to feel sore after a workout, especially the first time - it's called delayed onset muscle soreness or DOMS for short. The important part is the "delayed" bit - if the soreness occured whilst you were exercising, you may have an injury. If it came on after, it's probably only DOMS.
One of the best things for DOMS is to exercise again, you will find the pain eases off as you workout.
Good luck and welcome to FT.

Go ahead and lift. You are doing a different muscle group with this one right? DOMS will be a good and bad thing for you.

I got the workout plan from FT and for the first two weeks the workout is the same every time. Same muscles (actually all muscles). I did workout again and felt okay, but now I have pretty bad pain in my triceps (left more than right). Everything else feels good sore but my range in my arms is limited. I am on a rest day. Is there something I should do to help myself?

Welcome to the world of weight training. You will grow to love that feeling (as I can barley move my legs)

may have to go a lil lighter.......but it may help get rid of some of the soreness.

Andrew may be on to something. Starting out new, you always want to do more than your probably should. I know I had to back of some of my own ego and stay in a range I could do without losing form.

All id have to say would continue to work out jst drop it a bit, reps, or weightage would help, as long as u tst urself so u can learn ur starting ability thus not injuring urself as much gud luck:dumbbell:

Pain all over? lol I know exacly how you feel.... I love waking up after a nice workout and realy feeling like Ive been hit by a train.... lol. When im sore like that I usualy take a nice hot shower n' get ready for my next work out. By the time I stretch and my blood gets pumping I dont even remember I had them...

Aspirin works wonders too...Especially for the older guys like myself (yeah right) with chronic back pain!
Drink lots of water, massage it out, and hit the weights again. It will go away as you progress. But, like Andrew said, there's nothing better for it than to get back at it, even if it's just a bit lighter. I remember the mind numbing pain of first starting back at this too!:) That means your muscles were worked. Good job.

Just don't give up! Some soreness is good, but if it is pain take a rest then try again a day or to later! :)
