In bodybuilding ive heard that there are two phases, bulking and cutting. I dont know much about them, so can somebody tell me about them. Ive never competed, but i plan to sometime, but all this time ive been just going to the gym, and building muscle, thinking thats all there is to bodybuilding. (Speaking of cutting, hahah, i need to cut this fat around my midsection ive been gaining as of a month ago. haha.)

buliking phase = gain wieght: muscle and fat, a lot
cutting pahse = losing weight

Dirty bulk...eat anything you want for shear weight overall mass
Clean bulk...up your calories but eat as clean as possible to try to limit fat accumulation
Cutting....keep the muscle and burn the fat.
