Supplements can be a great aid with your health and fitness goals. Combined with the proper exercise and nutritional plan they can be quite effective.

I am currently using an eca stack to help me in aiding my weight loss. I am also taking L-arginine as well. However I was wondering is it true that Caffeine will prevent blood flow and L-arginine will increase the blood flow? If this is true, I assume by taking these 2 supplements it would cause a reaction and have no effect.

So I guess my question is.

Does l-arginine increase blood flow?
Does Caffeine decrease blood flow?
Taking these 2 will it neutralize the gains I am supposed to get?

Caffine restricts capillaries which in turn restricts bloodflow.
Arginine studies are kinda up in the air the majority of studies show that it does help in vasoladation which will help in bloodflow.
IMO I feel like using the 2 together could possibly hinder the effectiveness of either. JMO

Great question. But this is the inherent problem that I have with the NO product claims.

By saying that arginine is a “vasodilator,” that is, it increases the diameter of an artery via relaxation of the vessel’s walls, your blood pressure decreases (increase in volume = decrease in pressure). With this in mind, less blood actually gets pumped into the tissue in the same amount of time as the same situation but without the vasodilator.

Caffeine, on the other hand, is a central nervous system stimulant, and functions as a “vasoconstrictor.” In other words, it decreases the diameter of the artery and increases blood pressure. Therefore, more blood gets into tissue in the same amount of time but minus the stimulant.

One thing you need to remember: the amount of blood in your system is basically a constant. Only so much blood is at any one spot at any given time. What changes its delivery is the function of the pump (heart), and the pressure in and/or the volume of the closed system.
