before cardio? Is this okay?
So in other words, a whey protein shake in between the weight training and cardio; is that okay to do?

why not just take it after your cardio

I was just curious because it's sometimes inconvenient to wait 45 minutes after the shake to eat a meal...so I thought I could save some time by doing cardio a little bit after the shake...
Is this okay to do?

take it inbetween and see if it upsets your stomach or not. It is better to get the protein in after your weights.

I think as long as it is within 1/2 hour of your weightlifting, so it depends on how long your cardio is. Also - if you are doing cardio after weights - how long is your entire session? You may be undoing any good you did once you pass the 45 minute - 1 hour mark due to an increase in cortisol levels.
