hello to everyone... I came across an article wherein a pro suggested that creatine and glutamine should not be taken alongside one another. Reason being, the two substances compete for the same receptor sites for absorption. It was recommended there that glutamine taken pre-workout and creatine post-workout. I would like to know if indeed there is interaction between the two. My order of glutamine will be arriving two weeks from now.
I need your thoughts on this, thanks.

Creatine is not a protein amino acid per se, but a synthesized compound resulting from the reactions of the aminos glycine, arginine and methionine. For the sake of space and time, I’ll go ahead and assume that you understand how creatine works (ATP, phospate, etc.), as well as the functions of glutamine in the body.
That being said, I cannot see where the two would conflict. They chemically react with the body totally differently. The receptor sites that they interact with are completely dissimilar; they do not have to compete for the same ones. Therefore, taking them as supplements together should not impede either of their functions in the body.

That what you read was old "technology". there was a time when they thought receptors would fight for absorbtion, but have long since found this untrue. Mix your creatine, glutamine, and protein together for an awesome post workout drink.
