Look for Championship Bodybuilding by Chris Aceto - he calls it rotational dieting.
I carb cycled very successfully - it is how I initially went from 217 to 145.
Email me if you want more specifics.

From Muscle and Fitness website:

7. Rotate your carbs.
Nutrition expert and former bodybuilder Chris Aceto recommends eating about one gram of carbs per pound of bodyweight for 3-5 days - these being low-carb days - and doubling that for the next 1-2 days, then repeating that cycle. If you weigh 200 pounds, eat 200 grams on low-carb days and 400 grams on other days

Carb cycling can be very useful when dieting for fat loss. I like to first start off with standard reduction protocol, and then go into carb cycling. Here is an example of a cycle that works well for me....

day 1...1/2 gr. carbs per lb. bw
Day 2...1/2 gr. carbs per lb. bw
Day 3...2 gr. carbs per lb. bw
Day 4...1-1 1/2 gr. carbs per lb. bw
Day 5...restart cycle

Up your protein on low carb days. On high carb days you can lower it(excess calories if you don't, carbs are protein sparing anyway). By the way, on your low carb days(1 & 2), make your carbs fibrous in nature...like oatmeal in the morning, and mostly veggies.

how about some brown rice? this is my current cutting meal plan which i've been on for a little over 2 weeks now.

Breakfast-1 cup oatmeal 5 eggwhites 1 sc. protein
PWO protein drink simple carbs
PPWO meal-52g. cooked chicken, 1 cup broccoli with 2 fish oil capsules adn 1\2 cup baked bean baked beans(check sugar in these if they are the canned type)black eye peas will work well.(Post cardio meal is ground beef baked beans, broccolli and fish oil)
Lunch-3 1\2 oz. steak 2 oz. whole wheat pasta 1 cup veggies
snack-8 oz. extra lean turkey with 1/2 cup brown rice 1 cup veggies
dinner-6 oz. chicken 2 cups veggies 1 tbsp. flax oil
Before bed- 1/2 c. cottage cheese 2 tbsp. flax meal 1/2 sc.

So i guess i could cut the pasta and rice and up my turkey and other meats. Am i basically uping the protein to meet the amount of carbs i've taken out to keep the same amount of calories?
