Hi, I am new here and I was wondering if it is a good idea to take a protein shake as a meal if you are trying to lose weight. I'm not looking to really add muscle just slim down. I didn't know if this would hurt any? I don't usually get to have breakfast in the morning until 3 or 4 hours after I wake up and eating a milk product doesn't sit well. My options are also limited since I live in a dorm room. What are your opinions? Thanks

A protein shake or supplement is meant for just that, a supplement (in addition to). It is not recomended to use as a meal replacement, although you are not harming yourself, you are just lacking calories from proper sources.
A good quality meal replacement would help much more, and keep you satisfied longer.
Hope this helps.
