I've been doing Pilates for 7 months now and I am absolutely loving it! I have a class Mondays from 4:30-5:25. It's not just a good workout for your body but it also helps me relax. I may have had a stressful at school or just in general, and then I go to my Pilates class. When the class is over I'm so much more relaxed! I also feel that I'm starting to show some progress as far as muscle tone, a little bit now, and it's such a great feeling! I suggest it to anybody! Males or females!

any suggestions for a great pilates workout on video? The ones that I have tried are too easy and I don't sweat!

I have been searching for as much feedback as I can on the Pilates/Yoga area's as I would like to add to my current routine, something I can do at home, so I appreciate your post, I, too, like mryanni2000 would like to find a good tape to assist me as I know nothing about it! :)

I thought I would share from another post, Yoga for Dummies was said to be good for beginning.

Maybe I haven't tried enough pilates workouts, but I just don't care for them. I guess I need something to make me sweat and feel sore the next day; and pilates just doesn't do it. I'm happy it works for you.

Veda, I can't speak much to pilates, but yoga is incredibly effective for helping people control their weight. This is particularly true of someone who has struggled with weight issues for many years. It's all in how you approach it. I won't lecture or anything, but if you have any questions I'll be glad to answer them as best I can.

You know i have this yoga tape made by the people at Crunch Gym, it's called "Fat Burning Yoga" I did that for 3 days a week for 4 weeks and lost 11 pounds. I like it because its relaxing, but u HAVE to use all your muscles, you will be sweating the end of it. Therefore I got a lot of muscle tone out of it.

I have the Winsor Pilates series and love them.. It maintains a good pace and does enough repetitions of each movement that you really tire the muscle and are glad to move to the next one.

I started doing yoga 2 months ago almost every morning for 20-30 min and my breathing is soooo much better now and I feel a lot more calm.
I'm on a diet right now (got a competition in 4 weeks) and with all the stress from the diet and other training, the yoga has helped me a lot! :)

I have Pilates Complete for Weight Loss DVD. The menu is really big. There are three different fitness levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced.) And each fitness level has 10, 20, and 30 minute workouts, a special training section (to teach you how to do the moves) a workout with warmups, and a work out with advanced moves.
I really love it. Even though I haven't worked hard enough to make time to do it lately. It definitely works. If I can do it regularly, I see results within a week.
