Geez, im full about drinking whey.

Me and my buddy has just started a new workout program to gain more weight. I'm a 5'10 and 150Lbs male, thats average, but i would like to be about 180Lbs with alot more muscle. I kinda new to this forum, so i apologize if im posting this somewhere wrong. But, ive been taking some Whey protein, and weight gainer (a reduced amount). I've read that i need about 150grams (due to me weighing 150lbs) of protein in the diet daily to achieve my goals. I've looked around, and i gotta say, im drinking sooooo much whey protein is ridicious (not to mention my stomach is about to bubble over). I losted about 35lbs some 8 monthes ago where i did alot of cardio and cut back in my portions on my meals. I think i have a pretty small stomach because of it, but in order to get my 150grams of protein, i need these shakes, like 7 of them, plus my normal eating, proteins bars, ect. I'm COMPLETELY FULL ALL THE TIME. I feel huge 24/7. Is there anyway i can eat normally with maybe 3 big meals throughout the day. Plus the gas from the whey gotta go, lol. Thanks guys.

Your post should of been in the supplement forum, you would get more replies there.
Your protein shakes should be supplemental to your diet and not a staple. If you are training regularly, have a post workout shake, and get your protein from food. Eat 5 smaller meals during the day and you should be ok.

first, you need to be eating more real food. whey is best utilized post-workout when your body needs to absorb protein fast for recovery. other than that, supplements should be used sparingly to reach intake goals. whole food is always the best option.

i'm almost 6'0" 175 and i can easily get 175g of protien in a day without drinking 7 protein shakes and eating protein bars. tuna, chicken breasts, lean beef, bison, ostrich, and black beans are all good sources of protein that will put you over the 1 gram of protien per pound of body weight base. however, don't restrict yourself to 1g/lb. for your goals, you'll probably find yourself needing more than that.

now about what kind of whey your using...if it's a concentrate you will have a lot more problems with gas and bloating. with the amount of whey you're drinking, i can't imagine how bad this problem is for you. you really need to cut down on the shakes and eat whole food. if you still have gas problems, get whey isolate if you can afford it. it absorbs quicker and won't give you nearly as bad of a gas problem. you'll also feel less full because you won't constantly be bloated.

and you're probably realizing about now that you've posted in the women's forum, but don't sweat it, guys read this too and a lot of us women know what we're talking about. :big_smile:
